The New Light Iron Turnout Company

Sykesville, MD: Berrett Hill Trains of Sykesville, MD, manufacturer of the Touch Toggle line of model railroad turnout controls, along with The On30 Guy and The Peterboro Railroad, are pleased to announce the acquisition of the Light Iron Turnout Company (LITco).

Founded in 2005 by Gary Kohler, Kevin Kuzman, and Jim Weinschenker, LITco manufactures a wide range of high-quality turnouts for narrow gauge modelers in a variety of scales. LITco turnouts are proudly made by hand in America, and the new LITco will continue that tradition, employing Berrett Hill’s proven large-volume distributed-manufacturing process to ensure that LITco’s products continue to be of the highest quality available.

We are currently in the process of transferring the inventory of tools and parts to our shops here in Maryland, and at the same time, building our web site. Once completed we’ll turn on ordering through our shop pages. We hope to have the transfer completed, and be fully operating within the next few weeks. Our first priority will be to fill any outstanding orders.

Thanks, Brent, and funny you should ask about the Light Iron Digest. Gary Kohler and I were actually discussing that last night. LID is not in our current roadmap, but I almost never say never…
